Singapore’s Business Grants Portal (BGP) is the centralised online platform where companies apply for government grants — including PSG, EDG, MRA, and many others. If you are applying for a government grant for the first time, navigating the BGP can feel overwhelming. There are multiple sections, specific document requirements for each grant, and a precise sequence of steps that must be followed.
This step-by-step guide walks you through everything you need to know to successfully register on the BGP, find the right grant, and submit a complete application.
What Is the Business Grants Portal?
The BGP is managed by GovTech Singapore and serves as a one-stop platform for businesses to discover, apply for, and manage government grant applications. It integrates with Singpass and Corppass for authentication, and connects to your company’s ACRA profile for automatic verification of business details.
Most major EnterpriseSG grants — including PSG, EDG, and MRA — are processed through the BGP. CCP applications, however, are handled through Workforce Singapore’s separate Application Management System (AMS). Our consultants are familiar with both platforms.
“The BGP is well-designed, but there are several non-obvious steps that trip up first-time applicants — particularly around document uploads, declaration forms, and project start dates. Getting it wrong means starting over.”
— Augustin Lee, Founder, Supreme Solution Consultancy
Step-by-Step: How to Apply on the BGP
- Step 1 — Log in with Corppass: Access the BGP at businessgrants.gov.sg using your company's Corppass credentials. Ensure the person applying has the correct Corppass role authorised to submit grant applications.
- Step 2 — Search for the grant: Use the grant finder tool to locate the relevant grant (PSG, EDG, MRA). Review eligibility requirements, funding details, and application instructions before proceeding.
- Step 3 — Start a new application: Click 'Apply' to begin. You will be guided through a series of sections including company information (auto-filled from ACRA), project details, cost breakdown, and vendor/solution information.
- Step 4 — Upload supporting documents: Depending on the grant, required documents may include ACRA business profile, audited financial statements, vendor quotation, and a project proposal. Ensure all documents are current and clearly labelled.
- Step 5 — Submit declaration and submit: Review the application thoroughly, complete the mandatory declarations, and submit. You will receive a submission confirmation with a reference number.
- Step 6 — Track your application: Log back into the BGP to monitor your application status. Respond promptly to any queries from the grant agency to avoid delays.
Common BGP Mistakes to Avoid
- Applying after you have already started the project or made payments — always apply first
- Using a Singpass login instead of Corppass — individual logins are not authorised for company grant applications
- Entering incorrect project start and end dates — this affects your claims eligibility window
- Submitting without checking the pre-application checklist for your specific grant
After Submission: What to Expect
- Most PSG applications receive a decision within 4-6 weeks of submission
- EDG and MRA applications typically take 6-8 weeks due to more detailed assessment
- You may receive a Request for Information (RFI) — respond promptly and thoroughly
- Once approved, you receive a Letter of Offer (LOO) which you must accept before proceeding
- After project completion, submit your claim through the BGP with full supporting documentation
